The Spirit River senior’s apartment has taken another major step forward towards securing the funds required to build this new 26-unit apartment in the Town. In Sept 2022 Grande Spirit Foundation board approved moving forward to the next step with the Canadian Housing and Mortgage Corporation in pursuit of funds needed to construct this building. An architect is currently working on drawings for the building, and a development permit is being completed by staff. It is hoped this new building will receive the final capital funds approvals required to complete the building in late 2024.

The Spirit River continuing care building continues to move through construction, with an expected opening in late spring of 2024. The Grande Spirit board and staff are excited about both projects and looking forward to seeing each building completed in the community.

NEW SENIOR APARTMENT IN SPIRIT RIVER

Situated at the heart of Spirit River, the upcoming Spirit River Seniors Self-Contained apartment will be an embodiment of modern design and functionality. The 26 self-contained units are meticulously crafted to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of today's seniors. Each apartment combines style and practicality, providing residents with a welcoming and comfortable living space they can truly call their own. 

 

As a part of the Spirit River community, residents will enjoy an array of amenities and services such as the aquatic center, local grocery store and downtown shopping all designed to enhance quality of life. Grande Spirit Foundation has recently received funds needed to proceed with the construction of the 26-unit senior's self-contained apartment. The apartment is under construction beside new the new continuing care and lodge building that is being constructed in Spirit River. This apartment provides much-needed housing in Spirit River, providing 4 storeys with amazing town and farmland views. The project was initiated through the great support of the senior community, who provided a letter to the Grande Spirit Foundation (GSF) board of directors who requested consideration for this new building.
