Rental Assistance Benefit & Temporary Rental Assistance Benefit

The Rental Assistance Benefit (RAB) and Temporary Rental Assistance Benefit (TRAB) programs provide financial support to help families and individuals afford private rental housing. RAB calculates rent as 30% of household income, with subsidies paid directly to tenants to a maximum of $500 a month. TRAB offers temporary support for low-income working households or those between jobs to stabilize their living situations.It is a flat rate established by the Government of Alberta. Available in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

Eligibility for housing assistance requires that applicants spend more than 30% of their income on housing, have a total annual household income below the Household Income Limit (HIL), and own assets valued at $25,000 or less (excluding essential items like clothing, furnishings, and a primary vehicle).
